IEMTR-WST-CAN-RS485

A DIN-mounted bridge that puts RS485 and CAN equipment on the network. Isolated on both buses, powered from anything between 7 and 36 V, and reporting to the platform over Wi-Fi — so an existing machine can start sending data without being replaced.

What it is

Two industrial buses onto the network, both isolated

Plant that speaks RS485 or CAN and nothing else is the usual reason a site has no data. This bridges both, on a wide DC input that will run from whatever supply is already in the cabinet.

  1. Reads registers from RS485 Modbus equipment already on site
  2. Reads frames from CAN equipment on the same unit
  3. Isolates both buses, so a fault on the line stays on the line
  4. Runs from any supply between 7 and 36 V DC, or 5 V over USB-C
  5. Reports to the platform over Wi-Fi, buffering through a dropped link

A Modbus RTU meter and a CAN-bus battery system, both already on site, read by one bridge that reports over Wi-Fi through an IESG-R250. Nothing on the plant side is replaced or reconfigured; the bridge sits on each bus as one more listener.

Read the meter that is already fitted

Most plant rooms have an RS485 meter nobody reads. The bridge polls its registers on a schedule you set and publishes them to the platform, so the meter you own becomes the meter you can see.

CAN telemetry from batteries and inverters

Battery management systems, inverters and motor drives that report over CAN are read on the second bus. State of charge, cell temperatures and fault codes arrive alongside the electrical readings from the same box.

Scenario 03 · cabinet power

Powered from what is already in the cabinet

The 7 to 36 V input runs from the panel's existing 12 or 24 V supply, so the install is two data pairs and two power wires. It pairs with an IESG-R250 where the cabinet has no network and joins site Wi-Fi where it does.
