The site gateway for cabinets that cannot afford to go quiet. Two SIMs on two networks with automatic failover between them, an RS485 port that reads Modbus meters and plant without a separate bridge, Wi-Fi for the meters that use it, and power from anything between 9 and 57 V or a PoE switch.

What it is

Cellular backhaul that does not depend on one network

The IESG-R250 with two SIM slots and a serial port. It fails over between two operators on its own, so one network's outage or a data cap does not stop the site reporting, and its RS485 port polls Modbus meters and plant directly, with no bridge in between. It is the hub of the mixed-site deployment: Wi-Fi meters, an IESG-M52 on the LAN port and serial equipment, all out through one encrypted link.

  1. Brings the site online over 4G on either of two SIMs, switching on weak signal, lost registration, a denied network or a data cap
  2. Reads RS485 Modbus meters, inverters and controllers itself and publishes the registers to the platform
  3. Runs the on-site Wi-Fi network that your meters join, and gives a LoRaWAN gateway its route out over Ethernet
  4. Powers from 9 to 57 V DC, or from an 802.3af PoE switch through its LAN port
  5. Buffers to a microSD card through an outage, so a dropped link does not lose readings

Software and firmware

Locked-down configuration with both APNs, the failover rules, the Modbus register map and platform credentials pre-loaded, so it reports in from first power-on without anyone configuring it.
